Okay there has been a debate in the Mountain Dew community this year, and that would be is Solar Flare discontinued. Many people say it is, but a handful of people say it is not and that it is still around and being produced right now. Today in this post I will be discussing it.

 In 2014 Mountain Dew Solar Flare was released exclusively to 7-Eleven stores across America and Canada around the same time. The flavor was also given a Slurpee flavor. It's tagline is "DEW with a Blast of Tropical Punch." The  flavor of the soda is Tropical-Punch and color of the soda was (or is if you are one of the those people) red-orange, similar to Typhoon. Suddenly, the flavor was pulled out of fountain machines in hundreds of stores in early or the middle of 2016, including all the ones close to me. I was shocked, as the flavor was my favorite at the time before Pitch Black re-released. Apparently some 7-Eleven's are still selling Solar Flare, and it's probably expired too.

 My theory is that 7-Eleven took it off stores because they needed to sell something else that was new, or that it was having poor sales and decided to take it off. However in September 2016, Solar Flare was released to the Philippines, for some reason. It was a surprise, but it did not last long, as the promotion ended on November 22nd of that year.

 I don't get why people think it is still permanent, It is obviously discontinued. Hopefully it comes back, and we can try to make it come back. I have started a change.org petition to PepsiCo to bring back the loved Solar Flare.
