Weird Mountain Dew Flavors  -  8/12/17

Sorry for the late post, this is a few Dew flavors I think most people don't know about that are weird and odd.

1. Lemonade with Ginger/Dewitos

These two flavors were dubbed "Vault flavors," released in 2014 on college campuses. Both flavors were tested along side each other. Both table cover had the Game Fuel logo, suggesting these two were candidates for the 2014 Game Fuel flavor that would be releasing alongside Citrus Cherry. It seems like Lemonade with Ginger "won" and was released in stores while Dewitos was dropped due to negative feedback, as the flavor was described by college students, Live Wire with disgusting liquid cheese aftertaste.

2. X-Treme

X-Treme is a Mountain Dew flavor that wasn't an unique flavor, it was a rebrand of Pitch Black. The flavor was first released in 2010 in Kuwait, then it spread into the middle-eastern areas of the world. The tagline of the flavor was "Do you dare?" If you look at the logo, it has similarities to the Pitch Black and Pitch Black II logo.

3. Golden Lime

Golden Lime was one of the first Mountain Dew international releases in Japan along with Aurora. Released in 1986, it was a lime flavored soda, similar to Distortion and Kickstart Limeade. It was discontinued the next year. Note that this had an odd bottle design.

4. Dew Fuel

This was a Canadian exclusive flavor, it was released as an energy drink to bypass a law in Canada that prohibits caffeine from anything but dark colored soft drinks such as Cola.
