My opinion on every Mountain Dew logo created.

12/16/2016

This will be a long post, at least to me. This is my opinion on all the logos created for Mountain Dew. This is my opinion, not yours, so make your own opinions that aren't reflecting off of mine.

1940's - 1969 Logo

The original. I can't hate on it, but it's not my favorite. It is still used on the delicious Throwback design, along with Willy the Hillbilly. I feel like I should use this and make a Code Red fan-made logo.

1969 - 1996 Logo

It is still used on Glass Bottles and was used on Johnson City Gold. I think it is better than the previous one, it's more modern to me, but not my favorite.

Pointed "D" Design

1969-1980

1980 - 1996 design,

in 1991 it was made thinner.

1996 - 1999 Logo

This logo ran for a small 4 years, and no new flavors were released when it was out. However, the new can design, called Mega Mouth Slam Can, debuted with this logo. This is probably my third favorite, I think it is unique.

1999 - 2005 Logo

You might be thinking this is my favorite logo. You're wrong. Even known I've made several fan-made logos out of this one, this is still my second favorite. This is so nostalgic for me, my local 7-Eleven still uses this logo on their fountain machine. Code Red, Diet Code Red, Pitch Black, Live Wire, Baja Blast, and Blue Shock Freeze came out with this logo.

2005 - 2009

Best logo yet. So many new flavors came out while this logo was used, Voltage, Supernova, Revolution, Pitch Black II, and Game Fuel Citrus Cherry. Until 2011, existing flavors like Code Red and Live Wire kept using this, and that's how I remember it the most because that's when I started to like Mountain Dew, and I would buy Code Red all the time, and I hated the MTN Dew design.

3 months ago, when I was walking to 7-Eleven, I found a green bottle on the ground. It wasn't just any bottle, it was a 2005 Dew Bottle! I couldn't believe my eyes! I ran home and washed it off. The inside had so much dirt in it, so I didn't keep the bottle, but I did keep the label.

Me holding the bottle I found.

2009 -

The newest logo, and it's not really bad, but it's not in my top favorites. So many flavors came out during this logo. Just to name a few, White Out, Typhoon, Distortion, Dark Berry, Sangrita Blast, Diet Ultra Violet, Solar Flare, and all the other Game Fuel flavors. As of making this post, this is the current logo used on the majority of products.

International Logos

Canadian Logo

The current Canadian logo. The word "Mountain" is not abbreviated in this logo, because the Canadian company did not have the licensing for "Mtn Dew." This logo came out in early 2012, and is still used today. In Canada, Code Red, White Out, Voltage, and Supernova premiered with this design. I wish the American logo can switch to this one, I'd rather have the word mountain actually spelled out instead of it being abbreviated.

International Logo

Currently 8 countries use this logo, Greece, Romania, Finland, The Netherlands, Spain, Morocco, Thailand and South Africa have switched to this logo which is similar to the Canadian logo but has a few differences. This also a cool logo.
