Which Mountain Dew promotions did I participate in?

There are mainly 6 different promotions that I have participated in over the years. These are my opinions and views on each of them.

DEWmocracy 2

The first and only DEWmocracy I participated in. The first DEWmocracy happened when I did not drink Mountain Dew, it happened a year too early. During voting for DEWmocracy 2 I voted only for Typhoon, because I did not like White Out and Distortion was not accessible to me at the time. Sadly, Typhoon lost to White Out, but I started to like White Out after the promotion. Typhoon was then released again in 2011 for the Back by Popular DEWmand promotion, only being sold in 2-liters at Walmart.

Dub the DEW

This was a small but funny promotion. Dub the Dew was a promotion that allowed fans to name a new Green Apple-flavored drink to be distributed at Villa Pizza restaurants. Around August 2012 the Dub the DEW website was launched and I decided to vote for the name "Smooth Apple," because it was number 3 on the leaderboard. Soon after, several online communities (most notably 4chan) attacked the website, voting for offensive and disgusting names. I laughed when I saw the results. "Hitler did nothing wrong," was the winner, and then the website was shut down.

DewGothamCity (unofficial name)

DewGothamCity was the promotion between Mountain Dew and Warner Bros. Pictures/Legendary Pictures' film, The Dark Knight Rises. During this promotion, existing Mountain Dew products received temporary packaging upgrades to feature The Dark Knight Rises logos and codes that could be redeemed on the website to gain access to exclusive movie content and merchandise, and the promotion ended on August 12, 2012. Dark Berry was released during this promotion and was a great flavor.

FanDEWmonium

FanDEWmonium or the Diet Dew Challenge was a promotion that aimed towards making a new artificial sweetened diet Mountain Dew. The winner of the promotion would have been permanent. In October 2010, right after DEWmocracy 2, the FanDEWmonium campaign was announced. It allowed Mountain Dew fans to go to the online website and fill out bracket-style surveys to see which flavors they would like become a permanent diet variant. Eight semi-finalists were chosen from this.

Diet Supernova - Lost to Voltage after coming in 2nd place in DEWmocracy.

Diet Voltage - Already a permanent non-diet flavor, after winning DEWmocracy in 2008.

Diet White Out - Already a permanent non-diet flavor, after winning DEWmocracy II in 2010.

Diet Flare - One of two brand new flavors created by Dew Labs specifically for this campaign.

Diet Typhoon - Lost to White Out after coming in 2nd place in DEWmocracy II

Diet Ultra Violet - Previously released for a short period in 2009, it was the first diet-exclusive flavor of Mountain Dew.

Diet Crave - One of two brand new flavors created by Dew Labs specifically for this campaign.

Diet Distortion - Also lost to White Out after coming in 3rd place in DEWmocracy II.

After this stage of voting, two finalists were chosen: Diet Voltage and Diet Supernova. I voted for Diet Voltage to win, I never had the diet version but I chose it because Voltage was already permanent. Well I chose poorly, Diet Supernova won, and was only available for a 12-week run. I never got the chance to drink it either.

Every 2 Minutes

The Xbox One came out in 2013 and I really wanted one, but that wish came true when the Every 2 Minutes promotion was announced. Every 2 Minutes was a promotion by Mountain Dew and Microsoft for their new Xbox One system, similar to the 2005 promotion Every 10 Minutes. Every specially marked Mountain Dew (didn't matter which flavor) contained a code which would get the person points, in which they bid on an Xbox One. I had bid on a Xbox on the last day, and I actually got one! I still have the same Xbox One, and I even bought a Mountain Dew sticker to put on it. During the time of the promotion, the 2013 Game Fuel promotion was going on at the same time with Citrus Cherry and Electrifying Berry.

DEWcision 2016

Before this promotion, Pitch Black was already released through Speedway and social media sweepstakes along with Crystal Pepsi. Rumors of Pitch Blacks returned have popped up here and there until late 2015 where a image leaked online of Pitch Black and Baja Blast sporting DEWcision 2016 labeling. On April 18th, 2016 the promotion started, giving fans a online website to vote for either flavor, Baja Blast or Pitch Black, and the winning flavor of the promotion would remain permanent on store shelves. The promotion ended on July 9th, 2016 with the race tied at 50-50. The winner was announced on July 18th on Facebook and Twitter. With more than 2.9 million votes, Pitch Black has edged out Baja Blast by less than a half of a percent of the total 5,789,284 million votes. In September of that year Pitch Black was made permanent to the Mountain Dew lineup.

I know I didn't talk about the Game Fuel promotions, but I already did a post about that.
